Comments:"A pair of AMIRS, (Aufklarungs MIRages), opening the annual Axalp Fliegerdemo are something that one can never forget. At first you would only see their tiny shadows skimming the snow covered valley below, dancing in amongst the pine trees. But then, almost in an instant, they would suddenly pull up - hurtling towards the crowd at a blistering Mach 0.87 in full reheat. You'd have your camera fixed on the leader, your heart racing, your finger poised, hoping, just hoping, you'd get that shot. In an instant they would roar overhead, your senses reeling from the noise and vibration, then they`d role inverted and just as suddenly they would be gone, diving into the valley below. They had their pictures, and by part instinct and part reflex, (usually), so did I. Sadly the AMIRS have long gone, but those days are not easily forgotten".
